Night of A 1000 Stevies!!

My absolute favorite event of the entire year was last weekend - Night of A 1000 Stevies!  A tribute night dedicated to the white winged witch Stevie Nicks!  The night began 20 years ago (yes, 20 years!) by nightlife impresarios Johnny Dynell, Chi Chi Valenti and Hattie Hathaway.  Performers of all genders come from all over to twirl in honor of Belladonna.  The Highline was packed to full capacity and although it was sweltering, no one seemed to mind.  Thank god Stevie wore a lot of lace!  The first thing I noticed when I arrived at 10pm was that already the room was full and everyone was standing in front of the stage waiting for the show.  I was standing with Gusty Winds, Devin Stone, Felicity StarDust and Lauren Conrad (who I was duetting with on Gold Dust Woman) and they all commented on the sight of people anxious and happy to see a show.  Not texting or on Grinder!  Devin and Lauren said they had never seen that before except for maybe a big concert.  This is a night of pure joy!!  People are happy.  They're feeling their inner Rihannan.  They're covered in glitter and banging on their tambourines.  The show was incredibly diverse; dancers, singers, performance artists, musicians, acrobats - everything.  Kudos to Daddy, Mommy and Hattie for bringing this much needed celebration to NYC.
