Dear Diary

WONDERFUL WORLD OF WIGS #106

Before I gab about my extended birthday celebration I just wanted to mention 3 amazing, talented friends; Kenwyn, Natalie and Dallas.  I've worked with Kenwyn over the years.  She is a multi talented performer and artist and now she's in a band with Andrew Sotomayor called "Your Rhythm Mix".  They recently performed in my show at Industry and did their Sweet Dreams mash up.  Check them out live or on YouTube.  My dear friend, and future club Dazzle co-owner, Natalie Joy Johnson is on Broadway in Kinky Boots.  I'm glad I waited to see the show because it's always so exciting to see someone you love and respect on a Broadway stage working it out!  The show is super fun - honey, it's a $150 drag show! Hello!  Lol.  Congrats to Natalie and check her out in Kinky Boots or at Therapy every Monday night.  And Dallas DuBois.  Dallas recently retired from drag, her last show being Queen last Thursday at Industry.  And as I'm writing this she is en route to a new life in LA.  Dallas is gorgeous and very talented and brave.  It takes a lot of balls (no pun intended) to make a major life change like that so I applaud you and I already miss you lady!

On to the weeklong birthday celebration!  Well I've earned it!  Lol.  A big birthday calls for a big celebration.  It began with a big show at Mt Airy Casino in Pennsylvania.  For the past 2 years we've done the show on Halloween but it has been such a big success that we are now doing it several times a year.  The core drag ensemble is me, Pandora Boxx and Mimi ImFurst.  And our special guest this show was Manila Luzon.  It's a greta show with dancers, costumes and flashy group numbers.  And they treat us like rock stars; nice rooms, free buffet, unlimited booze and M&Ms!  Yum - Jack and chocolate!  The audience is mostly straight but the fun, laughing, cool straights and they lined up to buy merchandise and take pictures so ya gotta love that.

The next night I was off to fashionable, international Astoria.  (Kidding  - I love Queens!)  Icons is the newest hot spot in Astoria and I always have fun there.  Nick, Calen and the crew were unbelievably sweet and threw me a grand bash!  Cake, champagne, sparklers and 4 VERY well-endowed go go dancers.  I think I lost a tooth!  They even had presents and flowers for me.  Soooo thoughtful - thank you all at Icons!

The very next night - that's right we're not done yet - I teamed up with my mama, Raven O, and sister in crime, Joey Arias, for our first night of the now monthly party, Bar d'O!  Did that make sense??  Ok, we did Bar d'O for 10 years in the 1990's.  For the past 10 years we did it as an annual event every December at Indochine.  NOW we are doing it the last Sunday of the month, every month, at Acme.  Whew!  If you haven't seen this show you are missing out. The space is perfect, the crowd is gorgeous and the show is everything.

The finale came Wed night at Industry with a big blow out.  Bob and Chris turned it out for me and I am so appreciative of the entire staff and family there.  We started with a 9pm champagne toast which was great as many of my elders were able to come and still be in bed by 11pm.  At 10pm I was roasted, and I mean char-broiled honey!  Queen of Mean and Drag Race Season 6 contestant, Bianca del Rio was the hostess with the mostess - most BO that is.  The rest of the panel were dear friends Joey Arias, Shequida and Michael Formika Jones.  Everyone turned it out and I love my friends!  Then for the midnight show I did my drunken best to "entertain" the packed house.  I actually made a lot of tips.  Maybe they felt sorry for me!  Lol.  Whatev - ching, ching, getting paid over here.  I had the best week ever - thank you all!!!

WONDERFUL WORLD OF WIGS #104 I just returned from a glorious 4 days in Los Angeles. I LOVE LA! I know New Yorkers are always trash talking LA but I do love it there. I fucking love NYC but wish I could be bi-coastal more often. I arrived Thurs and had one hour to rehearse a whole show with pianist James Lent for our "unplugged" show at Revolver. I hadn't been to Revolver in years (let's just say the last time I was there it was a video bar!) but it's back and better than ever. I had so much fun hanging out with the super sweet and fun owner, Jeffrey and the staff. The bar filled up right before show time and we let them have it. It was exciting to do my parodies in a different way - on key! lol- not! We did a torch rendition of Shit My Pants that was hilarious and people were loving the show. Thanks Revolver! The next morning, Jackie Beat picked me up at my hotel, Ramada West Hollywood (it's in walking distance to everything I need since I don't drive) and we went wig shopping on Hollywood Blvd - one of my fav pastimes in LA! We ran into Morgan McMichaels in the wig shop and cackled trying on wigs and jewelry for awhile. I live for this shop- big hair, cheap lashes and always a laugh! Then Jackie and I met up with Candis Cayne and Mario Diaz in Koreatown for a delicious lunch, Jackie's treat! Hey, she's a writer for Hello Ross on the E network she can afford edamame. After lunch, I left with Candis so she could show me her new house. Yes, people in LA own homes. And not just nay house, a gorgeous 1928, old-school Hollywood home. It is my dream house! Lots of rooms and staircases and a touch of gothic, a massive mirror deco dining room table, a big back yard, hot tub - where do I sign up?? We sat and reminisced for hours before she had to drive me back to WeHo. I felt bad having everyone drive me around. lol. I do have a valid driver's license, just a little rusty! I guess it's like riding a bike, but a car - whatev. Friday night I got a ride to Spit at Faultline for a little show and appearance. My dear friend Paul V, of Drag Strip, was DJing and running the party. I've known Paul for almost 20 years so I was happy to get to hang out with him and catch up. The party was a hoot. I love anything different than the same thing I see every night so when I spotted the bear go go dancer I was in heaven. It's a great club, I was there once before for Mario's party. The back club has a roof that opens, even though it was closed this night, so people can smoke. I'm not a fan of smoke in a club but I like the feeling of people being able to do what they want in a club. It's a club! I'm rambling because it's so fucking cold out and I'm under the covers "writing" this and I took a Percocet and she just kicked in. On Sunday, Jackie and I had 2 shows at Casita del Campo. It's a black box theatre in the basement of a Mexican Restaurant in Silverlake where Jackie and I have performed before, along with so many amazing artists in LA. Mr. Dan (aka Gina Lotriman, the other half of Drag Strip with Paul V) runs a tight ship honey! Lol. Both shows were sold out - something new and exciting for me - and it really was the best time ever. The NY Times called Jackie and I "the Laurel and Hardy of drag". No one is funnier than Jackie, no one. She is so fast and fearless that it really keeps me on my toes. After 22 years of performing together she still surprises me. And I got to see so many people I love and have known for decades in the audience. After the show we got to catch up and have a giggle upstairs over chips, salsa and margaritas. FUN! Thanks LA! My dear, dear friend and gorgeously talented artist, Tracy von Becker-Legge, curates shows at Chelsea Eye. Most recently, she pulled together a very successful of art by Hedda Lettuce. Next up is "Return of The Space Caterpillar" by club vixen, Chip Cirrhosis. The event opens Feb 14 at 7pm. 157 W. 19th St. A percentage of sales goes to The Trevor Project Foundation. WONDERFUL WORLD OF WIGS #103

The madness of it all lol!  The new party, Berlin, presented by Brandon Voss, Justin Luke and Alan Picus, has everything!  I was at the grand opening which was fun but last week I guest DJ'd (and I do use that term loosely) and participated in the show.  Berlin is at Providence where Brandon threw some amazing parties.  It's a great big space and the rooms each have their own "scene" going on.  DJ Johnny Dynell was TURNING MY PUSSY OUT!  Not many DJs command me to dance but when I went to say hi to Daddy Dynell I had to take my bionic hips to the floor and shake, shake, shake.  Then I popped into the side room where Cazwell was serving it up and the very sexy, scantily clad Cocky Boys were shimmying down!  So scandalous!  Downstairs, I was DJing for the open bar hour and of course the room was packed.  I mean to say, it was packed because of the open bar not because of my DJing lol!  Frankie Sharp took over the DJ reins and let them have it.  I hadn't hung out with Frankie much but I always loved running into him.  He's very funny and has a great infectious energy (not to be confused with Epiphany's infections).  Speaking of Epiphany - she is the Mistress of Ceremonies in the basement and runs the shows.  The queens were bringing in honey.  Bartendress Madelyne Hatter did an amazing Celine Dion song I had never heard.  Jada brought the house down with a Beyonce song.  Paige Turner was keeping everyone happy with her antics.  She's another one I always love running into!  paige is always smiling and "up".  The lithium is working lady!  And Gerry Visco along with partner in crime ….. gave us a 1980's performance art piece!  So if you want to have a good time - dance, party, see some wiener and some clowns - check out Berlin every Friday.

After recovering all day Saturday from Friday night I attended Sunday brunch at Yotel with a big group including Stephen Scherock and Ron (who used to werk the brunch there).  It is out of control!  OMG- I thought my brain was going to explode lol.  At first I was like, "No way".  It's so loud and children are voguing and carrying on and you can't have a conversation and there's face painting and do I really need runway with my hash browns?  LOL!  BUT once I had a Mimosa and let go and allowed the chameleon in me to assimilate to my new environment I had a blast!  It really is quite impressive - everyone is there, it's packed, and everyone is laughing and having a ball!  And the food is really good!  I don't eat, of course, but that's what I was told.

Later that night, I went to see The Midtown Men starring the very talented and dear, Michael Longoria.  I have become friends with Michael and his bf Taylor and I've seen Michael perform solo before but never with the group.  They are all original members of The Jersey Boys.  Let me tell you, they were on fire!  The look, the choreography, the voices - The Voices!  My favorite was the MoTown Medley.  My only complaint - too short!  We want more! lol.  Congrats to Michael and the boys.  If you get a chance to see them, check out The Midtown Men.

I started talking about madness so let's end on the same note - Bianca del Rio.  I was a guest at her show Monday night at The Ritz.  Poor dear has to hire talent to entertain the crowd at her own show.  JK -it was insane.  I've worked with DJ Javier for years and he cracks me up.  A great sense of humor, knows how to "play with the queens" and had the children spinning!  Bianca of course was hilarious and we carried on.  It gets packed in there and they were vogueing, tweaking, popping and dropping.  Warning - if you are part of any ethnic minority stay far away from the front of the room when Bianca hits the stage!  lol.

WONDERFUL WORLD OF WIGS #102

I hope everyone is having a great 2014 so far and staying warm!  Oy vey. I know it's January but we were teased with an usually warm week and then bam!  It was award season here in NYC this past month, honoring so many nightlife denizens.  The Get Out Awards (thank you for the Best Drag Performer Award), The Glams (thank you for nothing, congrats to Bianca for winning every category) and The Odyssey Awards (thank you for the Best Drag Show Award).  I do love an "event".  Everyone is dressed up to nines and I get to see so many people that I love but only see once a year.  The Odyssey Awards (disclaimer, I write for Odyssey - duh) were held at the Metropolitan Room.  It's a gorgeous venue and somehow I had never been there before.  I presented the award for Best DJ to the one and only, Daddy Dynell.  That was a treat!  Dallas DuBois and Frankie C. did a superb job hosting.  Congrats to all the award recipients this season.

I popped into the new Brandon Voss party, Berlin, at Providence on Friday nights and had a blast.  I was actually having so much fun downstairs where DJ Formika was turning it out and Epiphany and the girls were lighting the stage with outrageous "Weimar Cabaret" -ish numbers that I never even made it upstairs.  Ok, I was tipsy and had been in stilettos for 6 hours and I was to lazy to climb.  But really, I had a blast.  Can't wait to DJ there with Formika Jan 10!  And I'm blaming the tipsiness on bartendress Madelyn Hatter and Epiphany who enjoys seeing me wobble.

The weekend leading up to New Years was action packed.  I was asked to hostess and perform at the grand opening of Icons in Astoria.  Yes, you heard me.  Astoria.  It is hopping with the gays!  One of the owners, Nick Lion, who arranged everything, was an angel.  He had a car pick me and Laritza DuMont, he had a private dressing room for us (away from the 10 sexy go go boys but not too far away! lol), he had champagne for us, he paid us in cash on the dot and he had a car ready to drive us home.  THAT  is how you treat a queen!  I had not seen Laritza in years.  We've known each other for almost 20 years but seldom run into each other and hadn't hung out in probably 10 years but as soon as I got into the car she was like, "Girl", and I was like, "Hooker", and it was as if no time had passed.  I truly adore her.  She works hard.  Costume changes, choreography - her performance is down boots!  Besitos guapa!  The joint filled up very quickly and was packed all night.  It had an old school feeling - lots of sexy go go boys.  One, who shall remain nameless, was quite flirty and if it had been 1999 I would have been ALL over it!  I was having so much fun I actually stayed an hour longer than scheduled.  Congrats to the whole Icon team and best of luck!

Over at Therapy: Monday night was Peppermint's last night.  She was filling in for Epiphany, who was in Rykers, I mean, Mykonos, for the summer.  I love this lady more than anything and had a blast.  Look for her new single and video, Dollar In My Tittie, coming soon!!  Epiphany will be returning this week and we have moved the night to Tuesday.  Natalie Joy Johnson was cast in Kinky Boots (go girl!) and she will be taking over Mondays.  So come see the return of The Blonde Leading The Blonde every Tuesday at 11pm!

New Years Eve.  I was booked at Cobalt in DC where I have a monthly residency.  They also booked Willam, Detox and Vicky Vox.  I was so excited as I love the Three Stooges.  Cobalt always puts me up at The W, which I love, and they take very good care of their performers.  My bff Bruce came down from Mt. Airy and we got dressed for the gods and hit the party.  The "ladies" were so fucking funny and fun and nice.  I adore them.  Detox and I were wearing almost matching dresses, unplanned, and we got a good giggle out of that.  Funniest line of the night:

Detox:  Ladies and Gentlemen, from Rupaul's Drag Race Season 5, contestant Willam.

Vicky: From RPDR Season 6, contestant Detox.

Willam: And RPDR viewer, Vicky Vox.

The club was packed!  We laughed, we drank, we laughed some more, we drank a lot more!

Wishing you all a happy and healthy 2014!

WONDERFUL WORLD OF WIGS #101

Last week I had my Ohio premiere in Cleveland with Peppermint and then one week later I was flying solo in Columbus for a show at Axis.  I had been communicating for years with native drag icon, Nina West, so it was nice to finally meet in person.  It was COLD but it's a college town and not even sub-zero freezing weather could keep people home.  They local queens performed a big holiday dragavaganza that was amazing!  I hung out with the "ladies" until it was time for our club show, a little meet and greet, some pics with sexy boys and then I was on a 6am flight back to NYC.

One of my favorite things about the holidays is the plethora of shows!  Whew - this season there were so many I couldn't even see them all.  SpinCycle was working overtime! But I did not miss the funniest clown-lady of all time, Jackie Beat!  It was Jackie's 16th annual Xmas spectacular and she did not disappoint.  I have been called The Parody Queen but I humbly kneel before the master.  And Jackie is not afraid to cross any lines!  Can't wait for her NYC return on Memorial Day!

I had my own holiday show with my sister, Pandora Boxx.  Pandora and I have become palsies and we have wanted to work together for awhile.  I had sooooo much fun!  Our show, A Very Cougar Christmas, played at The Laurie Beechman Theatre for 4 shows and was well attended and I know I had a gay time!  Pandora and I are cut from the same cloth so it was easy, breezy and of course, boozy!  Lol.

The news season of RuPaul's Drag Race has been announced and I am especially excited because I have 2 good friends on.  Courtney Act, from Sydney, who I have known for over 10 years and is sickening gorgeous and talented is on.  And my favorite South of The Border troll, Bianca del Rio!  Bianca and I "read" each other but honestly, I am so excited and happy for her.  She deserves to be a star.  Finally, she can put that broom down for good and make money performing.  Good luck hag!

Videographer Francis Legge and I have just released 2 Lady Gaga video parodies; Applause (Menopause) and Do What U Want (Pay What U Want) with Drag Race alum Milan as R Kelly!!  Please check them out on my youtube channel and SUBSCRIBE!

Have a safe, healthy, happy and GAY holiday!!  Shalom and see ya in 2014!

Ok, I know this is an article about drag and wigs but, "I got something to say", to quote Jerri Blank. I never get overtly political in my show although I do try to make statements and certainly my parody of Alejandro (You're A Homo) is political.  I'm Carol Burnett.  I want to make people laugh.  That's my job!  But I really have to get this off my $10 rubber booby chest.

Eminem.  What is up??  I smell bullshit and I gotta call it out. It is unacceptable in this day and age to say certain hateful words.  Paula Dean was cast down for it.  Alec Baldwin has been crucified in the media for it.  Isaiah Washington was fired for it.  So why is Eminem allowed to get away with it? I just can't figure it out.

"Oh, he's an artist".  Bullshit excuse!  This isn't his first offense and after all these years in show business he knows better.  Did anyone notice that he and Paula Dean had the exact same argument for why they have used derogatory language?  Eminem says he's not homophobic.  That when he says "fag" it's not about gay people.  And that's just the way they talked where he grew up and in his world.  Another bullshit excuse!  Well, isn't that exactly what Paula Dean said?  Don't get me wrong!  Paula Dean deserved what she got as did Isaiah Washington.  My point is that Eminem should not be allowed to get away with it either.  And I don't give a fuck if he's supposedly friends with Sir Elton John.  Sir Elton should tell him to piss off.  Who needs friends like that?  Remember Miss America contestant, Carrie Prejean?  When Perez Hilton asked her about same-sex marriage her response was that marriage should be for "opposite people".  She later stated that she had gay friends and wasn't homophobic but that was just her belief.  Thanks friend!!

I guess what bothers me most is this double standard.  One person says "fag" and they are ripped part - as they should be.  And when Eminem says it, he's an "artist".  I actually like his music - some of it a lot.  But he ain't gettin' one gay dollar from me.

Whew!  Ok, on a lighter note…  last week I went to The OUT 100 event that was gorgeous!  Everyone was dolled up looking fab and handsome.  Then I dashed over to Hardware to do a show with Shequida.  We always have a kick together.  That bitch still puts on a great show.  She's got video, costume changes, special guests and sexy DJ Scotty Rox!

And don't miss my partner in crime, Joey Arias, every Sunday until Dec 1 at Joe's Pub.  Joey turned it out for a packed house with a live band led by Lance Horne.  And even had Alan Cumming and Meow Meow as guests!  I'll be sharing the stage with her Dec 1 so come on down!

WONDERFUL WORLD OF WIGS #98

The Rainbow Tour!

I just got back from a little week tour in Europe.  I hardly know where to start because every single night was a blast!  So, why not start at the beginning?  Berlin!

I hadn't been to Berlin in a year so I was over due!  I always do a show Friday night at Axel Hotel so I can stay there for free.  That's how you work it hunty!  Hamburger Mary's took over the restaurant.  I've performed at many Mary's in the States so it was weird and fun to be in this very American eatery in Berlin.  The room was quite full and they even gave me free chicken fingers after the show! talk about singing for your supper!  Saturday I went to my favorite ladies shoe store, Buffalo, in Mitte and then returned to Mary's that night to watch 2 OLD friends of mine do their show; Matyna and Casper.  I've known Casper for almost 20 years and we were screaming and laughing.  On Sunday I made my return to one of the best and longest running gay dance parties in Europe, GMF.  The first time I ever performed in Berlin was at GMF in 1996 with Jackie Beat!  I always have fun and it's a great place to do a show.   DJane Gloria Viagra was on hand and it was packed!  After all these years Bob and Mickey still turn it out!  Monday was a long day because I was a special guest on BFF Gloria's new TV show, ThekenSchlampe (Bar Whore - perfect right?).   The show is produced and shot by our friends Aleksander, Shantu and Theo, who I've also known for almost 20 years!  Gag. They failed to tell me that part of the show is boozing it up lol.  Every time I said "New York" we had to do a shot of Jack.  So by the end of the interview we were cracking up and a touch messy.  It should be on YouTube soon.  Then Gloria and I ran over to make an appearance at the benefit for another bestie, Gerome Castell, who was attacked a few months ago and recovering.  Gerome is the drag mother of Berlin so people have really been supportive.  Even in Berlin there's homophobia and bashing.  Makes me sick to my tiny tight stomach!  Speedy recovery mama!  On a happy note, my ex Marec came to Berlin for the weekend and we had a gorgeous time hanging out together.  We are very lesbian that way!  Danke!

Tuesday morning I was bound for Helsinki!  My friend Jan who works at the hotel where I was staying got me upgraded to the Executive Suite.  Girl, this room was bigger than my apartment here!  Since I had the night off I camped out in bed watching movies and ordering room service - heaven! Wednesday night was my show at Hercules.  I was a wee worried about doing a show in Finland on a Wed.  Would anyone come?  But luckily they are bored there so it was a full house!  lol.  It's always fun performing at Hercules - they understand English perfectly so I can do all my dumb parodies and they like their booze - a perfect match!  I was having such a good time I lost track of time and had to run to the hotel, throw Miss Vine in the bag and dash for the airport.  It wasn't the only time this would happen by the way…  Kiitos!

I left Helsinki for Zagreb with a layover in Copenhagen.  Great airport. I once spent 10 hours there with Joey Arias.  Denmark is part of the EU but they use their own currency and I can see why.  Everything is twice as expensive!  A tall latte from Starbucks was $8.00!  Damn!  Once I got to Zagreb, Vlatko and Gregor, the owners of the gay bar where I was doing my show, took me to a lovely country restaurant for a traditional Croatian dinner.  The food was amazing.  It's perfect for me - meat and potatoes!  This was my second time performing at Rush and again, so so so much fun!  I say that a lot but it's true.  Every show this trip was inspiring and fun.  Just when I would think, "This is the best", I would get to the next city and the next show and be surprised how great it was.  Rush was packed.  They were so excited because they don't get a lot of imports lol.  Someone actually said to me, "No one comes here!  Thank you!".  I think they might even enjoy Bianca del Rio, that's how desperate they are for entertainment!  Side bar: the boys are very attractive.  Gregor and Vlatko took such good care of me.  Hvala!

The last leg of this tour was Milan.  I have been performing at Plastic for about 15 years and it's the best party.  DJ Sergio picked me up and took me to a lovely dinner.  I was HAGsausted so took a little disco nap and got ready for the show.  I was scheduled to "go on" at 2:30am and had a 7am flight back home so I wanted to get there early and split right after the show.  Ha ha.  The music and the party was so energetic with people dancing like crazy that I was swept up in it.  After the show, which went better than ever, I was dancing with La Stryxia and friends, flirting with the most gorgeous men EVER and suddenly remembered I had a flight lol.  This time I really rushed to the hotel, threw "her" in the bag and fleeced for the airport.  Let's just say I was not feeling pretty on the flight home!  But was well worth it.  Next time I'll make sure to stay an extra night.  Plastic was everything!  Grazie!

WONDERFUL WORLD OF WIGS #97

Now that I am pretty much recovered and back to life, mojo and all, I am back on the road!  My first trip post vaginal rejuvenation surgery was Quebec City.  I have worked many times in Montreal, which I love, but this was my first time to Quebec City.  My friend Francois came up from Montreal to give me a tour of his home town.  Did you know that Quebec City is the oldest city in North America?  Did yo know that it is stunningly beautiful and quaint?  Did you know that they do not believe in circumcision??  Needless to say, I'm a fan!  It was the 30 year anniversary of the only gay bar there, Le Drague.  There were 5 other queens doing the show and 10 dancers!  They take their shows seriously and it was a 3 hour show!  The place was packed and I had a great time even though I don't speak French and not everyone speaks English.  That can actually be a blessing at times; not being able to understand anyone.  Kind of like being at a Bianca del Rio show - you can't understand a word and trust me, it's better that way!

Next stop - Our Nation's Capital.  I have a monthly residency in DC but this time I stayed for 4 days.  Bruce Vilanch was booked to perform, hang out and do a Q&A so they asked me to come in and hostess at Cobalt.  I had met Bruce on an Atlantis Cruise and he's hilarious!  He was literally met everyone and has a story for all of them.  But he's always nice.  Bruce was in DC to speak at The Kennedy Center where they were honoring Carol Burnett with The Mark Twain award.  He spoke very highly of Carol and I told him that she was my main inspiration growing up - she's a legend!

Bruce answered questions for about an hour and had gorgeous stories about Paul Lynde, Bette Midler and Mr. Brady, Robert Reed.  Then I performed my most recent parody, Twerk Bitch at the midnight party.  BTW, DJ Joe Gauthreaux kicked ass!!  I spent Sat and Sun hanging out with my friends Bruce, Josh and Karl in Mt. Airy, MD.  Watching tv and eating brick over pizza and playing unicorn yahtzee - heaven!  Then on Monday I returned to Cobalt to be a part of their Monday's Are A Drag party hosted by Kristina Kelly and the ladies of DC!  Forgive me for not remembering everyone's name, senior moment, but they were really wonderful.  I am always so happy to see talented performers around the world.  It's not just NYC ya know!

Then I worked my butt off all week prepping for a big weekend.  I took Miss Metro North up ot Stamford, CT to perform at the wedding of my friends Jose and Russ.  What a beautiful night.  They had a traditional church wedding (gays can do that now! lol) and then a big reception with a sit down dinner for 150.  The venue was stunning and quite fancy.  Until I entered and started singing about Corn in poop!!  You can take the drag queen out of the trailer park but…  Congrats boys!!

I wiped the little, tiny bit of make-up that I wear off and jumped on the last train back to NYC to unpack and then repack for our 2nd annual Halloqueen extravaganza at Mt. Airy Casino and Lodge in the Pennsylvania Poconos.  This year it was me, Jinkx Monsoon, Pandora Boxx, Mimi ImFurst and dancers; Richard JMV, Dane Sorensen, Eric Harbin and Kit Treece.  It was billed as The Girls from RuPaul's Drag Race.  Just FYI, I was on the very first long lost episode of RPDR in 1946.  And, just for the record, I won.  Thank you.  The show sold out a month in advance and I had so many straight girls messaging me asking for tickets.  They managed to cram 500 people into a 420 seat theatre and it was insane!!  The most fun I've had in a long time.  It's a pure joy to perform for 500 eager, excited and fun people NOT on a phone!  We all had so much fun together onstage and off.  We did a meet and greet so people from the audience could take pictures (meaning buy merchandise) and say hi (buy mercy) and have us sign things (mercy!)  This took about 90 minutes but then they had a table in the disco for us with bottle service.  Now mind you, I had not had a drink in 5 weeks.  Mimi and I put away a bottle of Jack while Pandora and Jinkx polished off a bottle of vodka.  BOMBED!!  lol.  Then we hit the 24 hour diner to stuff our faces.  Our manager David Charpentier made me drink that vanilla malted milk shake, I swear!

WONDERFUL WORLD OF WIGS #96

If you hadn't heard before, I had hernia - I mean, vaginal rejuvenation surgery recently and was supposed to be out of heels for 2 weeks.  But, seeing how there is no disability in club land and a Jewess has to pay rent, I cheated and went into Industry for my weekly show after one week off.  I was in pain but the delicious Percocets took care of that. I threw on my hospital gown that I stole and the "fashionable" slippers they provide, added a diamond necklace and hobbled over.  Bianca del Rio came in to wheel me onstage and provide support.  If you know Bianca you know by "support" I mean torment!  A cross between Nurse Ratched and Kathy Bates from Misery - but uglier.  Actually, the show was hilarious and I adore Bianca for lending a plastic gloved hand!

I was starting to feel better and bored after 2 weeks in bed writing and reading.  Ok, watching every frigging TV show on demand.  And I mean every! I am all caught up on Raising Hope, Dexter, True Blood and Top 100 Cute Kittens (just ask Ongina!) It was time to get back to doing what I do: Video parody!  I wanted to do a parody of Britney's Work Bitch because I thought it was going to be a monster hit.  I had missed the optimum time frame for Wrecking Ball, Roar and Applause and I assumed that Work Bitch was going to be a mega hit.  Not! But you never know.  So I wrote it in one night, recorded it the next day and shot the video the day after Britney's premiered.  Director Francis Legge did a great job - as usual!!  We shot the video in a few hours and he was able to work his magic bitch.  Plus there are amazing appearances by drag queens, sexy dancers and cameos from Perez Hilton and Charlie Hides.  We even included a little RuPaul Supermodel homage.  Check out Twerk Bitch on YouTube.com/MissSherryVine.

I was feeling well enough to travel to New Haven to see my husband and baby daddy, Joe Manganiello (Alcide, the werewolf from True Blood) in Yale Rep's A Streetcar Named Desire.  Me, Chris and Gavin from Industry and our friend David took the train up, had a lovely dinner at some diner and then joined the audience of mostly 20-something women to drool, I mean, watch as Big Dick Ritchie sauntered around onstage in his boxer shorts.  As he yelled, "Stella", I thought I heard "Sherry" and jumped out of seat screaming "Take me"!!  All kidding aside the show was good and he is a trained actor after all and not a piece of meat.  Right!  Can he be both??  Lol.  He was barefoot a lot and good lord his feet are like barges!  Ok, cool down lady…

If you're looking for something different in Hell's Kitchen check out Do The Right Thing at The Ritz Thursdays with hostess Peppermint and DJ Cazwell.  I was a guest there last week and had so much fun.  Cazwell is serving up rap, hip hop and R&B - sorry no Madonna.  And people were dancing like crazy.  They also have hot go go boys - kinda a rare sighting these days.  And of course, my sister Peppermint is bringing it!  There was a twerk off and 2 guys were literally upside on the stairs tweaking over each other - hilarious!

I went to Therapy on Tuesday to see the jaw-dropping amazing talents of my new BFF, Natalie Joy Johnson and the equally inspiring Brian Nash on piano.  A group of friends from my Atlantis family were in town for Chita Rivera's 80th birthday party.  If you have not seen Natalie and Brian, trust me, haul ass!
