Oh my little chickdees, what a week it has been! Everything in this article happened in the course of one week! Let's start with one of my absolute favorite nights in NYC; the annual Night of A Thousand Stevies (NOTS for those in the know!). This was the 23rd installment of the gorgeous salute to the white winged dove, Stevie Nicks. It was sold out again so the Highline was packed! This was the first year I wasn't performing as I was supposed to be out of town but I ended up being in NYC so threw on a shawl and twirled my way down with bff Josh Rosenzweig and Karl, aka The Lady of The Lake! As Empress Chi Chi Valenti took the stage to start the show, I was filled with pure joy and didn't stop dancing or banging my tambourine for the whole set. Daddy Dynell was serving us Stevie remixes and the glitter was flying. If you haven't experienced this magical night I highly suggest you do so next May. The next morning, I had to be at La Guardia for a 7am flight. I grabbed a latte and sat down at the gate and what's playing on the radio overhead? Sara! Stevie was still with me!
Ok - back to the 7am flight. I had a show in Ft. Lauderdale that night at Bill's Filling Station with lil sis, Porsche. I love performing at Bill's because it's a fun crowd that actually watches and listens to the show. Even my off key songs about poop! lol. I work with Porsche a lot every summer in Cherry Grove and she is so sweet and fun. A good time gal. In the audience, my dear old (old!) friend, Elaine Lancaster. Elaine is on Real Housewives of Miami but took the time to come up and hassle me. lol. Just kidding - I love that bitch! Was on another 7am flight to get back to NYC in time to paint my face for another annual event that I love - Project Achieve's Vaccine-o-licious. Project Achieve is an organization dedicated to education and prevention of HIV and I'm always ready to lend a glamour length fake nail hand. This year the event was at El Morocco. It was my first time there and I flipped over the decor! I must film something there asap! The show was dazzling with so many talented acts! Dancing, singing, comedy, fashion shows and more. Peppermint, who works tirelessly with them, MC'd the show and as usual was perfection! Keep up the important work kids!
Then is was a full week of filming the last 2 episodes of Season 2 of my Here TV show, She's Living For This. We had 2 special guests; Jonny "Gay Pimp" McGovern and the legendary Lady Bunny. Not only is Jonny crazy and perverted (and I mean that in the best way!) but he is extremely professional and funny. Wait until you see our parody of Harry Potter (Hairy Bottom). And Jonny performs his new single, The Gayest of All Time. He had Linda James and Erika Couture Aviance onstage with him that I adore but never get to see so it was a real treat. And of course there was Lady Bunny. Words cannot describe her. Well, maybe they can; silly, insane, old, over-the-top, clever, did I mention old? Bunny is the funniest person I have ever known and just sitting with her in the green room had me in stitches. But Bunny is also very talented and easy to work with. I promise you - you will laugh your ass off when you see it! Season 2 premieres on Here TV May 31 with a new episode every other week. We will be showing them on the big screen at Therapy every other Monday starting June 3 at 9pm!!! PLEASE come by! You can see all of Season One on Hulu and soon Season 2 will be on Hulu also.
More on Lady Bunny!  She was also my very special guest for my one year anniversary of The Sherry Vine Show at Industry. Girl, if you think my parodies are filthy… I ain't got nuttin' on Bunyons. It was packed, duh, and they loved her. A perfect anniversary party. Peppermint showed up and then Bianca swaggered in and we got a hoot at the bar!

WONDERFUL WORLD OF WIGS #85
Congratulations to Tina Burner - our new Miss Hell's Kitchen! Miss Hell's Kitchen is an annual event and fundraiser for AIDS Lifecycle produced by Shane Terenzi. There were 11 contestants this year and they were ALL amazing. I literally thought, "This is better than anything on Broadway!" So much talent and creativity on one stage in one night! Kudos to all the gals, everyone who worked so hard to bring us all this entertainment and Peppermint who turned it out as the hostess.
I have started traveling a lot again after a slow winter, thank goodness! I did my annual show at Quinnipiac University which is always a hoot. It was my fifth year there and it's always packed with a fun, energetic and enthusiastic crowd. Speaking of Universities, I also returned to Mont Clair U for a show. MSU has a great organization called Spectrums for LGBT students and their straight allies. I wish they had a group like this when I was a student in the 1880's! I returned to DC for my monthly residency at Level One and Cobalt. The dinner show was sold out and it is soooooo fun to perform for a crowd that is there for the show and really listening and responding. Then for the Cobalt show I performed my new single, Lost In You (now on itunes, prod by DJ Gomi) with 4 sexy dancers; Richard JMV, Dane Sorensen, Kit Treece and Eric Harbin. Luckily, they ate it up and then it was PARTY time for the boys lol. DJ Drew G was there to keep us going all night.
Then I was off to Minneapolis for the first time to perform for Bitch Flowers and her annual extravaganza at Victory Theatre. I met some amazing queens including Bitch, Krystal Kleer, Mrs Smith and burlesque star Foxy Tann. It's a big, gorgeous theatre and the place was jammed with fun people. Thanks Mini-Apple for popping my Big Apple cherry!
Back home there were more great shows. I went to see my dear friend Dorothy Bishop's one woman, many character show at Iguana. Dorothy is a trained opera singer and is now doing impersonations and she is flawless. I highly recommend you see her - I know I'm going again in May. Her Kristin Chenoweth is spot on. And her Barbra - butter! I had 2 shows last week that were super fun. One was at the historic Stonewall; a packed audience of gays, lesbians and fun heteros. There aren't many places left with such a mixed crowd and I for one love it! Another party that is off the wall is Paisley Dalton's My Chiffon Is Wet at eastern bloc. It was first time there and hunty, she is fierce! lol. Yes I said fierce. People were dancing like crazy. Hostess Leo Gugu was serving up Miss Ross realness and working her fan. and the crowd, into a frenzy. LOVE!

WONDERFUL WORLD OF WIGS #84
Whew! Just got back from my whirlwind tour of Europe! 5 cities, 10 flights, 8 days - and GORGEOUS! I'm fortunate to get to work all ova the globe and I always have fun but this trip was a dream. Every show was a hit! First stop - Milan. Bordello is a party at Plastic in Milan, a club that just celebrated it's 32nd year! I ahem performed there several times but the last time was 7 years ago so I was so happy to return. It was the 40th birthday of my friend Sergio who is the DJ and co-owner. Now when I say it was packed hunty, it was sardine packed. You could not even walk thru the club and at one point I literally was stuck against the wall so just decided to stand there as pretty as possible to talk to whoever was walking by at the time lol! DJs Sergio and Lady Stryxia were letting us have it. So many gorgeous men but mama kept her hands (and lips) to herself. Then I was on a plane to Helsinki with a layover in Oslo. I was starving so grabbed a burger not knowing the exchange rate for Norwegian krones. When I got home and saw the bill it was a $30 hamburger! That's an extra night at Port Authority! But once I got to Helsinki my friends took me out to eat. It's hard to find a dish that isn't reindeer but I managed. It was a Tuesday night so the owners were a bit concerned about the turn out at Hercules, another club I've worked at numerous times. But it was a fantastic turn out- a regular Friday night. It's always fun performing in Finland, they speak perfect English, know my silly songs and are an enthusiastic audience. The ruling drag queen, Mega Paula, was there and we had a giggle!
I made a pit stop the next day in Heidelberg, Germany to visit Marec (my ex, but still dear friend) and have dinner with his family. The next morning I was flying to Zagreb, Croatia. I was once there to do a show in 1998 (yes, I was 12!) with Joey Arias and Raven O but it was a very different time then. It was right after the devastating civil war, there was no gay club at all and people were just so happy to have someone come there and make them smile. Now there's a great gay club called Rush. I was part of their extravaganza, about 6 Croatian queens, plus my new dear friend, Betty Blue, from Budapest. Svetlana and "her" bf Gregor own the club and they treated me like a rock star! All the queens gave a great show; a mix of Britney, traditional Croatian songs, dancing, comedy - a real cavalcade of entertainment. Since the gay scene is quite young there most of the people who are out and out and about were young. I felt like a chaperone! But they were living for it and I stayed all night, dancing like an old fool! Now this is a country where I can eat - plain meat and potatoes! lol.
Final stop - Zurich! I have spent a lot of time in this stunning city. But it was the first time I ever performed at boykasha, a kind-a circuit party that only happens a few times a year and draws in thousands from all over neighboring Europe. It was the perfect end to a fabulous tour. Meine Titten Schwester, Gloria Viagra, from Berlin was there and I was so happy to see her. The venus was amazing!! They had 2 sexy go go boys for my show, the DJs were tearing it up and I have never seen a room stuffed with so many cuties!! What do they put in the water in Switzerland??? I was dancing when the promoter reminded me that I had a flight -oops! Dashed to the hotel, removed the little bit of make up I need to wear, threw Sherry in a big and raced to the airport. So imagine how pretty I was at Therapy that night after flying to Amsterdam, switching planes, flying home, starving (I love KLM but cannot eat whatever it is they put in front of me, yikes) and sleep deprived. LOL!! One Jack Daniels and I was anyone's date. Oh dear! More stories next month when I'm off the Great Britain with Peppermint!

WONDERFUL WORLD OF WIGS #83
I'm writing this as I am getting ready to take off to Europe for a two week tour so you know in my next article I will have some STORIES! Lol. 5 cities in 8 days - schlep, girl, schlep! But cannot wait! For the past 2 weeks here I've been working hard on my Here TV show, She's Living For This. We are currently filming season 2 which starts airing in May. I really wanted to have Jackie Beat and Varla Jean Merman on but was having a tough time between their schedules and the fact that Jackie lives in LA and Varla lives in New Orleans. They both wanted to do the show and wouldn't you know it - they could only do it on the same day!! What are the drag odds?? I called our producer/director, Josh Rosenzweig, and said, "Queen, we have to do 2 shows in one day!" At first he was like, "Khaleesi, please!" But then he agreed that we had to do. We knew it was going to be twice as much work and time but trust me, it was well worth it!
Jackie Beat arrived a day early for her Hip Hip Hooray Benefit at The Cutting Room. Jackie has to have double hip replacement surgery after 45 years of turning tricks at truck stops.  You try climbing into 18 wheelers all night in stilettos! Of course, there is no group health plan for hookers, clowns or drag queens; or in Jackie's case - all of the above. But the night was sold out, had stellar entertainment and we raised some coins for the soon-to-be bionic tranny. Thanks to everyone who performed and showed up! Joan Rivers, Debbie Harry (in a hot red Marilyn do), Murry Hill, Jackie Hoffman, Fred Schneider, Frank DeCaro, The World Famous *bob*, Mimi ImFurst, Miss Guy, Michael Formika Jones and I'm sure I'm forgetting someone so forgive me! Oh - The Glamazons!
I don't have to tell you that we laughed our asses off for 2 days filming Jackie and Varla! They are both pros and hams! By the end of the second long day I couldn't stop giggling. Then that night I dragged my buns to Industry to see Varla's show. (Poor lady had a beard by then!). Varla hasn't done her show in NYC in a long time so we were given a rare treat! Varla is one of the most rehearsed and polished performers out there. As poised as she is she will do anything for a laugh - even inserting a leaf blower into her mouth literally blowing her cheeks and eyes out! People were gagging. You can see here every summer in P'Town or check out her hilarious videos in YouTube.
Also, look for her new movie that she stars in, co-wrote and co-produced, Varla Jean and The Mushroom Heads.
Last Wednesday at Industry we had a special event celebrating the record label, GomiNation. I have 2 singles on the label and some of the other artists were on hand to perform. Aaron Pfeiffer has a beautiful voice and premiered his single, Firestarter, with back up dancers and a fiery video! Jacqueline DuPree tore it up with her soulful, club anthem, I Came To Win (penned by Milan). The gorgeous Mila Jam brought the house down with her single, Walk. She can dance, sing and walk! DJ Kindbud closed the evening with his amazing video (dir Francis Legge) or The Remix Is Dead.

I wanna give a shout out to DJ Scotty Rox. He is the spinsational DJ every Wed night at Industry, as well as many other venues, and he is always in a festive mood and makes me feel oh so good! Love you boo!!

I'm finally legal! That's right, I just celebrated my 21st birthday. So nice to be able to drink booze legally. We had a big party at Industry where my dear friends (and Bianca) turned out to help me celebrate. Thanks to Epiphany, Pixie Aventura and Peppermint who all performed. And Bianca for her 20 minute hilarious roast. Francis Legge made a gorgeous video of well wishers, including; Jackie Beat, Candis Cayne, Willam, Raja, DeTox, Vicky, Manila and more. It was also the birthday of my dear friend (and brilliant composer) Matthew Doers and we were both feeling it the next day - thanks Jack Daniels!
The party continued into the weekend. I had my monthly show in DC and this month Willam joined me and the birthday Jack Daniels was flowing! My dinner show at Level One was packed to capacity and so fun. I love doing club shows but this really is my favorite kind of venue. People are there for the show, sitting and paying attention. So refreshing! But upstairs at Cobalt, around midnight, Willam took the stage to do her hits Chick-fil-a and Boy Is A Bottom. The audience knew the words and were singing with her which was gorge to watch. Willam is sweet, funny and crazy. And a good time gal! lol.
I came back to NYC the next day for the last night of birthday madness. A lovely dinner with friends and then drinks - laid back and festive. The next morning I got it together to have brunch with Isaac and Matt of WigBar at Epiphany's new brunch gig at Lillie's. There was some drama with their next door neighbor, The Catholic Church, but all ended happily with the protest march turning into a march of solidarity!  Thanks to Speaker Christine Quinn for stepping in as liaison. The restaurant is stunning and was packed and Epiphany and Ivy Winters serving up a hot brunch show!
My favorite wig sighting this week came from none other than Ms. John Travolta. Nice lace front! I hadn't watched the Oscars in years because the show is usually torture and just read about it later and see the glam outfit on Fashion Police. But this year I was invited to a party and that made it enjoyable. Best Dress- Halle Berry in that gorgeous Versace Art Deco gown! If RuPaul were the judge I think she would have sent Catherine Zeta-Jones away for worst lip synch! And my new hero - Michelle Obama, for including gays even in her Oscar speech! Go First Lady Go!
Francis Legge has directed yet another video parody featuring myself but this time written but and starring the outrageous BearDonna!! It's a parody of Moves Like Jagger and it's quite funny if I do say so myself. You can actually see me eat in it! If you haven't had the pleasure of witnessing BearDonna yet, trust me, you will!

WONDERFUL WORLD OF WIGS #80
What has been going on in Wig World in NYC the past few weeks?? Well, loads, hunty!  The legendary goddess Joey Arias had a residency at Joe's Pub and of course, just like a goddess, she turned it out! Her first week was dedicated to rock 'n roll and I was so happy to be her guest. Joey assembled a sexy cast of bandmates who tore it up with everything from Led Zeppelin to Stevie Nicks to Klaus Nomi. The following week I was in the audience as Miss Alien served us a helping of classics! My favorite moments were Joey's soul-wrenching performance of Strange Fruit and when she made a timer noise from off stage to let Flotilla know her time was up! Lol!! Hilarious! I think she has one more show in March so check her shit out.
Two of my favorite people have birthdays the last week of January and every year we try to celebrate them; Peppermint and Michael Formika Jones. For Formika, the Grand - oops, Godfather, of Gay Nightlife, we had a lunch of rice and beans (it's his heritage) with Miss Guy. Then that night we popped into Ritz to wish Peppermint a Happy Bday. Someone I hadn't seen perform in a long time but then reminded me how fierce he is was T-Boy!!! I want more!
I hostessed Mr Gay NYC Escort this year at Splash and had so much fun. Not only was Splash packed with hotties wearing next to nothing but then they got onstage and shook their money makers to a packed crowd. Last years delicious winner, Rafael Alencar, was on hand to hand over his title to Ivan - que guapo! I also got to bond with Thorgy Thor - the next superstar of NYC!
Industry has been booking so many amazing guests; Martha Wash, Crystal Waters, Glamazons. And last week we had Ongina (RuPaul's Drag Race Season One) as a guest . I was always a fan but our paths had never crossed. Well we bonded quickly over champagne and she was dragtastic onstage! We were cutting up and giggling like school girls. Ok, like drunk sailors! Many more surprises coming to Industry on Wed nights - The Sherry Vine Show.
A few days later I got to work with another downtown denizen for the first time, Iggy Berlin. Iggy is an artist and that is reflected in her many looks. We were hired to portray Anna Wintour (me) and Grace Coddington (Iggy) for the 10 Year Anniversary Party of the Daily Front Row. The party was a smash! It was at one of my fav party spots, Indochine, and everyone was there; Heidi Klum, Micky Boardman, Alan Cumming and oodles of fashion people I didn't know lol. You can see the hilarious pics on my Facebook page. Luckily, Anna did not show up as I don't know if she has a sense of humor about younger drag queens doing her. I can't believe I actually got to use "younger" in a sentence about me and it's really true!!
Lastly, I went to see Logan Hardcore at Therapy Wed night before my show. Bianca del Rio was in "New Orleans" (aka Rikers) so Ariel Sinclair was filling in. I've known Ariel for 20 years but had never seen her perform. We couldn't figure out how that was possible. But she was worth the wait! She performed I Honestly Love You so sincerely to a dildo. The house was cracking up! And I have to give it up for Logan. She did the entire Beyonce Super Bowl act - PERFECTLY!!! That bitch had every word and move down plus some of her own looks and gestures thrown in that made for a standing ovation worthy show! Get It Girl!!

Do you love Bingo? Do you drag queens? How about Drag Bingo?? Every Friday night at XL Nightclub, Linda Simpson is your hostess with the mostess for a silly evening of Bingo! With DJ Formika and Gemini as Linda's assistant, think Vanna White! You can win prizes and drinks. I actually won a round and was escoted into the bathroom with 2 other winners and told that if we stripped and went back out with a paper plate covering our "privates" we could receive a free cocktail. I politely declined- I wasn't that thirsty!! But it's really fun and free to get in so check it out.
After Bingo, I went into the main room to watch one of my fav drag shows in NYC, Hot Mess! Hunty, it is what is says it is. A big, fun, outrageous, hot mess! Hosted by Bianca del Rio (how she finds time to host a drag show and then mop the floors is beyond me but more kudos to her) and starring Milan, Skyla, Epiphany and Suga Pie. They have sexy dancers and there's lots of audience interaction. Bianca even has a Wig Off where 3 people from the crowd get a chance to don a wig and compete in a lip synch contest - hilarious.
While we are on the subject of Bingo, I've become a regular at Therapy every Sunday night at 9pm for Randy Rainbow's Bitchy Broadway Bingo. It's one of the few nights I look forward to attending out of drag lol. Last week, I went with Bianca and Porsche (all of us sans wigs!) and Jimmy Prada. Of course, it started out as, "Just one drink" and ended at 3am at Industry with Epiphany, who was in drag. But Randy is hysterical and keeps the room fully entertained. And you can learn oodles of Broadway trivia! Oh, how could I forget, his sexy assistant Rob running around in his skivvies!
At The Sherry Vine Show (every Wed at Industry at Midnight) I had 2 special guests; Jackie DuPree and JbDubs. Jackie is a great live singing drag performer and she was celebrating her birthday . She gave us a great version of Car Wash mixed into Mighty Real. If you haven't seen Jackie definitely watch for her next show. And JbDubs I adore. This was his second time as a guest. His song/video, I Hate My Job, went viral on YouTube and now he has a new song/video, Panty Sniffer. He's a professional ballet dancer and wasn't shy about shaking his booty! lol.
